A Son's Tribute

The act or instance of becoming different, The ability to recover or withstand tough conditions,

For a man to learn patience and be resilient, And to learn from mistakes at different positions,

Always being reliable someone you could call, Unforgettable smile, and a loving picture,

A man always at work, or working in handball, His favorite quotes will always be scripture.

Poem by Calvin D. Sutton

Perhaps you sent a lovely card or sat quietly in a chair. Perhaps you sent a floral spray, if so we saw it there. Perhaps you spoke the kindest words that any friend could say. Perhaps you were not there at all, just prayed for us this day. Whatever you did to console our hearts, we the family of the late Walter John Sutton Sr. thank you so much for every part.

I will truly miss the “out of the blue” lengthy phone calls I would at times have with Wobbie when he would call to chat with his cousin Jr. , but got me instead. He was quite the conversationalist and would often have me laughing out loud with his witty comments. He was a kind and caring man who most recently loved to tell me about his beautiful grand daughter, and how proud he was of his children. He was defintiely a fun guy who enjoyed life and family. I will remember him always and hope that all those happy memories of times spent with him will comfort us all. Sending hugs to his children, grand daughter and daughter in law.

  5. Ariana Sutton says:

The first time I visited New York without my parents, you welcomed my friends and I into your home with open arms and made sure we knew how to navigate the subway, haha. Even though I was with my classmates at the time, I’ve always considered that trip to be one of my first “solo” travel adventures, and you supported me ever since. Whether it was watching my YT vlogs or through random calls or texts, you always encouraged me to keep traveling and seeing the world. We even talked about getting the whole family to go to Africa together. It’s hard to believe that that can’t happened now, and even harder to accept that you’re no longer here.

I know Heaven gained an angel, but selfishly, I wish God had had other plans. I miss you dearly, Uncle Wobbie. I’m gonna keep traveling and take you everywhere with me in my heart. Please watch over us.

    Love you always,
    Your world traveling niece
